‘The Garden of Privatised Delights’ explores the privatisation of public space in the UK and the role design and architecture can play in creating a more inclusive future. Curated by Madeleine Kessler and Manijeh Verghese, the exhibition presents new models for public space ownership and access, featuring immersive installations across multiple rooms in the British Pavilion.
The design, with custom colours and a Coarse Rustic Arakabe finish, creates a vibrant and textured environment that encourages dialogue on reimagining spaces from pubs to playgrounds and high streets to facial recognition technology. The exhibition challenges viewers to reconsider the future of public space and its accessibility.
