FAQS
With decades of experience in creating sustainable, handcrafted finishes, the Clayworks team brings a wealth of expertise to every project, delivering exceptional quality and craftsmanship. Explore the FAQ below for more information on how we can collaborate with you on your project.
Are Clayworks finishes easily repairable?
Should any damage occur during the lifespan of a Clayworks finish, repairs can be carried out on-site. The effectiveness of these repairs depends on the type of finish and the extent of the damage. While some repairs may not be entirely seamless, please contact a member of our team to discuss further.
How are your finishes applied?
Our finishes are supplied as dry material, which will be mixed and trowel-applied on-site by a Clayworks approved applicator.
Can Clayworks clay plaster be applied in wet areas?
While our interior clay finishes are not recommended for use in wet areas, Clayworks Tadelakt offers the perfect solution and can be seamlessly applied in such environments.
How long do Clayworks finishes take to apply on site?
Installation times can vary depending on temperature, humidity and access provided. As a rough guide, finishing a 100m2 flat area with good access will take approximately 3 days in our Interior Classic Clay finishes inclusive of the primer and glaze application also.
How do I best prepare the substrate?
Substrate requirements will vary for different finishes Information and guidance on substrate requirements can be found in our Design Details.
Do you supply stop/angle beads? Which would you recommend?
We do not supply them, however, we do highly recommend QIC trims for aluminum beading and SAS-Europe for plastic beading that can be colour matched to our Clay plaster.
Can Clayworks tender against alternative products?
Clayworks can typically provide a product that aligns with the specified requirements. Please reach out to us with the details of the proposed specification, and we will confirm whether we can supply and apply a product that meets your needs.
