Located just south of the Han River in Seoul’s fashion-forward Cheongdam-dong district, the redesigned COS flagship spans 1,402 square metres across four floors – the brand’s largest Korean store to date. The exterior is clad in sleek grey basalt and punctuated by deep-set, black metal-framed glazing, whilst the pitched roofline alludes to an archetypal house form – a striking shift from the neighbouring high-rise buildings.
Our second project with COS, the interior is understated and gallery-like. Clayworks Tadelakt plaster was specified throughout, providing a seamless, softly textured surface that creates a cohesive and tranquil backdrop to the store. This finish complements a carefully curated palette of other natural and considered materials, including recycled plastic shelving and hand-tufted wool rugs woven from surplus production yarn.
