The interior design of Akoko, a Michelin-star West African restaurant by Aji Akokomi, draws inspiration from the simple beauty of African adobe terracotta clay architecture, celebrating the region’s sustainable and organic way of living. The space exudes a warm, inviting ambience, with carefully selected artworks and sculptures curated by the restaurateur.
Clayworks Rustic Tonal clay plaster was applied throughout, referencing the natural beauty of rural West Africa, whilst every dish is served in bespoke, handmade crockery. The interiors create a smart, relaxing and immersive dining experience, championing natural materials and Akokomi’s vision.
