Chalk River House is designed to connect seamlessly with nature, opening toward the River Test and organised around two internal courtyard gardens – a walled kitchen garden and a lush fern garden. A simple, cohesive palette of timber, zinc, stone, and Clayworks clay plaster is used throughout. Constructed entirely from a timber-panel frame, the building was erected within just a few weeks.
