Tile specialists Solus Ceramics have reimagined what a showroom can be with the relaunch of their landmark Clerkenwell space, designed in collaboration with architects Simon Astridge and Szczepaniak-Teh. Located in the heart of London’s design district, the project replaces the conventional sample repository with a dynamic cultural hub – a place for storytelling, exhibitions and creative exchange.
Following extensive sampling, a custom Clayworks Rustic clay plaster was selected as the wall finish of choice throughout key spaces. Combined with crushed discontinued samples from the old Solus showroom – a rare example of post-consumer ceramic recycling, the resulting finish is a bespoke, tactile surface that offers performance, material beauty and genuine sustainability credentials.
