Website terms
Version: 2.0
Effective date: 15 July 2026
1. Welcome
These Terms of Use explain how you may use clay-works.com and its content. By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
These are website terms, not terms for the sale of products or services. Orders and supplies may be governed by separate quotations, contracts and Clayworks’ Conditions of Sale. If there is a conflict about a purchase, the applicable contract or Conditions of Sale takes priority for that purchase.
2. About Clayworks
The website is operated by Clayworks Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 04552140.
Registered office: Clayworks Higher Bochym Workshops, Cury Cross Lanes, Helston, Cornwall, TR12 7AZ, United Kingdom.

3. Using the website
The website is provided to help architects, designers, specifiers, contractors, installers, distributors, clients, students and other visitors learn about Clayworks materials, projects and services.
You may browse the site and download resources for lawful personal, educational and professional purposes. You must not:
- Use the site unlawfully, fraudulently or in a way that infringes another person’s rights;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, server, accounts, data or connected systems;
- Introduce malware, harmful code or an unreasonable load;
- Interfere with security, availability, monitoring or normal operation;
- Misrepresent your identity, authority or relationship with Clayworks;
- Remove copyright, trade-mark, attribution or rights notices; or
- Use content in a way prohibited by these terms.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, Clayworks or others.
4. Information, products and availability
We take care to make website information useful and accurate. However, content is general information at the time it is published. Products, formulations, colours, availability, coverage rates, performance information, documents and guidance can change.
Website content is not an offer capable of acceptance and does not guarantee that a product, finish or service is available in a particular territory, quantity or timeframe. Project-specific commitments arise only when confirmed in the applicable quotation or contract.
We may update, correct, withdraw or replace content without notice. Before specifying, ordering or installing a product, check that you have the current technical documentation and obtain project-specific confirmation where the matter is important.
5. Technical information and professional responsibility
Technical data, drawings, specification wording, installation guidance, calculators and advice on the website are intended to support informed project work. They are not a substitute for competent professional judgment, a site assessment, compliance with law or the responsibilities of the designer, contractor, installer and other members of the project team.
Every project is different. Substrates, preparation, workmanship, interfaces, environment, moisture, temperature, lighting, programme, maintenance and other site conditions can affect suitability, performance and appearance.
The project team remains responsible for checking the intended use, selecting an appropriate system, coordinating design and interfaces, following the current product-specific documents and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, standards, approvals and contractual requirements. Please contact Clayworks before work begins where project-specific guidance is required.
The separate Technical Disclaimer forms part of these terms.
6. Samples, mock-ups and natural materials
Samples help communicate the colour, texture and character of a material, but they cannot represent every variation in raw material, batch, hand application, drying, lighting or finished scale. A sample is indicative, not a guarantee that every part of an installation will be identical.
Clayworks products contain natural clays, minerals and aggregates. Variation, tonal movement, texture and surface character are inherent qualities of these materials. Where appearance is important, review a current physical sample and an appropriately sized, site-relevant mock-up before final approval.
Our Natural Variation & Colour Representation Notice forms part of these terms.
7. Downloads and project use
Technical data sheets, installation guides, specifications, CAD details, BIM content, environmental documents, EPDs, drawings, images and other downloads are provided to support genuine evaluation, specification and use of Clayworks products. Public availability does not transfer ownership or grant an unrestricted licence.
Subject to these terms, you may download, reproduce and share a reasonable extract within a genuine project team where this is necessary to evaluate, specify or use Clayworks products, provided that the material is accurate, current, attributed where appropriate and not presented as your own work.
You must not sell, license, create a competing resource from, remove rights notices from, or commercially exploit a substantial part of our downloads without written permission. You must not alter technical content in a way that creates a misleading, unsafe or inaccurate document.
8. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the website and its content are owned by or licensed to Clayworks Ltd and are protected by copyright, trade-mark, design and other intellectual-property laws. Content includes text, photography, film, graphics, illustrations, logos, branding, product and finish names, colour collections, technical documents, installation guidance, specification clauses, CAD and BIM content, EPDs and other downloads.
Except for the limited uses allowed by these terms or by law, you may not copy, adapt, publish, distribute, frame, mirror, make available, license or commercially exploit a substantial part of the website or its content without prior written permission.
No use of the Clayworks name, logo or other brand element is permitted in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or origin where none exists.
9. Photography and credits
Projects shown on the website are collaborations involving clients, designers, architects, contractors, makers and photographers. Photography may be owned by Clayworks, a photographer or another licensor. It may not be copied, edited, republished or used without permission from the relevant rights holder.
For editorial, educational or commercial image requests, contact [email protected]. A visible credit does not by itself grant permission.
10. Automated access, scraping and AI use
You may not use bots, crawlers, scrapers, automated extraction tools, AI data-collection systems or similar technologies to systematically access, copy, extract, analyse, reproduce or republish a substantial part of the website or its content without our prior written permission, except where applicable law permits the activity and does not allow it to be restricted.
This restriction includes project photography, product descriptions, finish and colour information, technical documents, specifications, installation guidance, drawings, downloads, articles, graphics and illustrations.
Ordinary indexing by recognised search engines for the purpose of presenting search results is permitted, subject to our technical controls. Nothing in this section prevents lawful security research, accessibility technology or other activity that applicable law requires us to allow.
11. Links to the website
You may link fairly and lawfully to a public page, provided the link does not damage our reputation, imply an association or endorsement that does not exist, or present our content in a misleading context. We may ask you to remove a link where these conditions are not met.
You must not frame the website on another site or link directly to files in a way that bypasses important context, warnings or current-version information.
12. External links and embedded services
The website may link to or embed content from other organisations. Links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement. We do not control third-party content, availability, security, accessibility, privacy practices or terms. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that provider’s terms.
13. Website availability and security
We aim to keep the website available, secure and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend, withdraw, restrict or change all or part of it for maintenance, security, operational or other reasons.
You are responsible for your own internet connection, device security and arrangements for accessing the site. You should use appropriate checks before downloading or relying on digital material.
14. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing affects rights that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
Subject to that, the website and its general content are provided without a promise that they are complete, continuously available or suitable for every project. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clayworks is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or data arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the website or its general content.
Liability relating to products or services is governed by the applicable contract and law. Any exclusion or limitation in these website terms applies only to the extent that it is fair, reasonable and lawful in the circumstances.
15. Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Our Cookie Policy explains the technologies used on the website and how to manage choices. Both form part of the information governing use of the site.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the website, our practices or the law changes. The current version and effective date will be published here. Your continued use after an update means the revised terms apply from that point; changes do not retrospectively alter an existing supply contract.
17. Governing law and courts
These terms and any non-contractual dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you use the website for business purposes, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.
18. Contact
Questions about these terms or permission to use content can be sent to [email protected] or posted to Clayworks Ltd at the registered office stated above.
