Connaught Hotel

Red Room is an award-winning speakeasy tucked behind a velvet curtain at The Connaught Hotel, Mayfair. Inspired by the client’s exceptional art collection, including a previously unseen work by Louise Bourgeois, the space is designed to feel like the private living room of an art collector. 

A soft yet playful palette, including our smooth clay plaster, allows vivid artworks in crimson and scarlet by Bourgeois, Jenny Holzer, Trina McKillen and others to take centre stage, complemented by a pink onyx bar, red-veined Italian marble fireplace and hand-crafted details throughout. Tucked away is the oxblood snug, designed for intimate occasions. It features a solid marble table and our bespoke ombré clay plaster in shades of terracotta and red, luxuriously highlighted by an antique Murano chandelier.
