Case Studies - Restaurants

Gloucester Services is a revolutionary new concept in motorway restaurants by the Westmorland Family. It is already a great success in the Lake District at Tebay Service Station, where they substitute conventional fast food outlets with a restaurant that serves wholesome food, prepared on the premises and sourced from local farmers, bakers, butchers and fishmongers and by selling fresh, local and home-made produce.

The project is underpinned by contemporary architecture using local, natural materials to blend in with the surrounding countryside and with as little impact on the environment as possible. The ethos is simple; support the local community and economy and the results will be truly ‘of its place’.

Clayworks have completed over 360 square metres of clay plaster in our pigmented rustic top coat in each of the service stations. It has been a real pleasure to work with the Westmorland team on this project and we wish them the best of luck with the new opening. Sarah Dunning and her family are true visionaries and innovators.

We are delighted to have used Clayworks in Gloucester Services.  The ethos of the business chimes well with ours and the product itself fits beautifully with our use of natural materials and crafted feel. I think it brings a lot to our building and our customers like it too!’”
